About

Born Rushane Sanderson
Born in St. Mary, Jamaica, Deep Jahi was raised in a household where music was legacy. The third of five brothers, he grew up immersed in Jamaica's rich sonic traditions, shaping an artistry grounded in culture, consciousness, and rhythm.
After winning the 2012 Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall competition while attending Moneague College, Deep Jahi emerged as a formidable presence in the industry, later performing on major stages such as Sting, Sumfest, Rebel Salute, and Ocho Invasion. Early collaborations with producer Serani and Rockstone Media led to standout releases including Life Goes On, Nuh Punching Bag, and Another Murder.
Deep Jahi's sound is a distinctive fusion of reggae soul and dancehall power. He often layers rich, controlled reggae-style vocals over hard-hitting dancehall tempos, creating music that carries both emotional weight and high-energy impact. His vocal strength is undeniable — melodic, resonant, and technically sharp — while his deejaying ability remains top tier, allowing him to switch seamlessly between singing and commanding lyrical delivery. This versatility gives his music both depth and dominance.
Beyond his own catalog, Deep Jahi has played a pivotal role in shaping the next wave of dancehall talent, offering guidance and creative influence to rising artists such as Kraff Gad and Pablo YG.
Deep Jahi stands as both artist and architect — merging reggae spirit, dancehall force, and lyrical excellence into a sound uniquely his own.
